General Information About the Society:

The St. David's Welsh Society of the Capital District is a group of individuals who are interested in Welsh language, history, arts and/or culture. The society takes it name from Saint David, patron saint of Wales, who was a sixth-century monk credited with bringing Christianity to Wales. In fact, a large medieval monastery in south Wales bears his name and is now a major tourist attraction.

Membership:

Annual membership in the Albany St. David's Welsh Society is open to all persons interested in any aspect of Welsh culture, and is especially appealing to persons of Welsh ancestry. (See the membership info page for more details about how to become a member.)

Events:

Main society events are held each year, as described on our Upcoming Events page. Our activities are open to all persons; one does not have to be of Welsh heritage to participate in our organization!
